Optimized production techniques and increased purchasing power enable more affordable entry point into the Hasselblad system

Poulsen says, “Over the past four years we have optimized both our production and purchasing processes, which has resulted in increased purchasing power and lower production costs. We are happy to announce that these cost reductions have allowed us to offer the popular Hasselblad H3DII-31 at a new lower price point. We now offer the H3DII- 31 kit, featuring the HC80mm lens, at the new price of €11,995.

Based on the same technical foundation as the other H-system cameras and using the same superior HC/HCD lens program, the H3DII-31 provides a serious but affordable Medium Format alternative to high-end 35mm users or any other demanding DSLR user that wants or needs to stand out from the crowd.

Poulsen continues, “We are kicking off the new pricing with a special summer campaign. Hasselblad’s tradition has always been one of innovation, advance, unflagging dedication to quality, as well as a true passion for photography. Simply put, Hasselblad never settles for good enough and now, with this lower price, fewer photographers will have to do so in the future”.

About the Hasselblad H3DII-31
The H3DII-31 combines the advanced digital communication and optimization of the best DSLRs with the quality and versatility of the Hasselblad system. The H3DII line represents the combination of decades of photographic expertise, a keen understanding of digital photography, and the experience gained from developing the world’s most advanced camera system. Like all H System cameras, the H3DII offers full access to all Hasselblad lenses and technical advances, including the powerful new Phocus RAW converter software. The H3DII-31 is now available at a price of €11,995 excluding tax.

“Hasselblad’s commitment to Medium Format DSLR cameras, and to our H system platform, has now enabled us to lower the price barrier that may have kept some photographers from acquiring a true high-end DSLR camera,” explains Christian Poulsen, Chief Executive Officer of Hasselblad. “We have already succeeded in producing the most comprehensive camera system in our industry. Now we can offer discerning photographers a superior quality alternative to 35 mm solutions, and all the benefits of our larger sensors and lenses.”

In 2004 Hasselblad initiated a focused strategy on producing the world’s most advanced digital cameras, bringing true DSLR functionality to the Medium Format segment. With the Hasselblad H3DII, the company is now in its fourth generation of Medium Format DSLRs. Improved production techniques have already provided benefit to consumers in the form of increased product quality and reliability, and now photographers will also benefit from a new, lower price.

Enhanced Picture Quality
Panasonic brings vivid color reproduction in the same league as its flat-panel LCD TV screens into your car. Such high image quality is now more important than ever with the rising popularity of in-car DVD entertainment and navigation systems. That’s why Panasonic developed a new high temperature-certified color filter that stays faithful to color standards even under the grueling conditions of a hot car interior, delivering richer color images when viewing DVD entertainment2 and navigation system maps. Enjoy crisp and clear display of small type and fine patterns thanks to high-definition display technology and a digital graphics processor, the key to improved image resolution.

Simple Touch-Screen Operation
A light touch of your finger on the 7″ widescreen display panel is all it takes to control most functions. Operation is quick and easy from the very start because you can directly select the items you want from simple menu lists or icons. Gone is the hassle of moving the cursor through endless lists. Improved touch-panel transparency contributes to outstanding brightness and legibility, while the improved Graphical User Interface (GUI) uses clear color graphics and text.

Ignition-Linked Fully Automatic Monitor Extension/Retraction
The extensive setup menu lets you select a completely automatic monitor extension/retraction instead of the usual button-activated procedure. All you have to do is turn the ignition key (ACC ON) and the monitor will slide out and up to your pre-selected angle. Likewise, when you stop the car and turn the ignition off (ACC OFF), the monitor will automatically retract.

Keep Your Hands on the Wheel
With the separately sold Hands-Free Kit featuring Bluetooth® technology (CY-BT200U), you can talk on your cell phone while keeping both hands on the steering wheel. And since Bluetooth® uses wireless technology, your phone can stay in a pocket, purse, backpack or briefcase. Up to five phones can be paired with the system.

Play Multiple Video and Music Formats
Most people think of their DVD player simply as a movie machine. This model not only plays prerecorded DVDs and DVD-audio discs, but also MP3, CDs, DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW discs. With 18 FM and 6 AM presets with Preset Scan, you can easily find your favorites. For even more options, the system is satellite radio-ready.

1. The iPod Classic, iPod nano (3rd generation) and iPod touch require AV cables that incorporate an authentication chip. Only the 5th-generation iPod can connect via a conventional AV cable.
2. Video feature is designed to function only when vehicle is parked and emergency brake is applied.
